Environment: would a derogatory label help to prevent irresponsible environmental behavior ?

Descriptive words can do a lot. Here are a couple: ‘pedophile’, ‘rapist’. These words, themselves, perform to some degree as deterrents.

Such a word – a label – might be useful in the world’s efforts to buffer the bad behaviors that you and I and industry conduct each day against the environment.

I can imagine that if you accused me of being a ‘planet smegma’ or a      ?      anytime that I commute to work in my automobile even though public transportation is readily available, that I might feel bad about my actions.
