It is obvious that the marchers of Selma and the kids at Woolworth’s were struggling on behalf of black people.
But they also did white people a favor: had it not been for the civil rights activists holding up the proverbial mirror to the white people, we would very likely still be behaving as immorally as before the civil rights movement.
